T-Alimen Food and Beverage Grade Tubing
T-Alimen™ Food and Beverage Grade Tubing
Made exclusively by Randolph Austin since 2009, *T-Alimen™ is a food grade tubing made form a TPV material that is designed to maximize its performance in a peristaltic pump. T-Alimen™ is a food grade alternative to **ED-Plex. T-Alimen™ is manufactured using a TPV (Thermoplastic rubber vulcanizate) material that is a blend of materials designed to maximize its performance within a
peristaltic pump application. The vulcanization process within this material increases the crosslinking between the polymers, which renders the effect of increasing the resistance to swelling and abrasion, increase the flexibility over a wider temperature range, and tends to increase the tensile strength. T-Alimen™ possesses greater chemical resistance (see chemical compatibility p.2) and meets the food processing guidelines as defined by the FDA and NSF/ANSI Standard 51. T-Alimen™ also has the benefit of being made from a UL listed material.
T-Alimen™ has similar characteristics in a peristaltic pump application to ED-Plex™ (i.e., long life and chemical resistance). Exhibiting moderate UV resistance, T-Alimen™ has a working temperature range of up to 190°F inside the pump. The normal effect on T-Alimen™ when exposed to excessive UV is yellowing, and our customer track records indicate little to no effects on performance in a peristaltic pump after exposure. T-Alimen™ is preferred over standard PVC tubing in applications that require food grade material while pumping hot materials (>120°F) due to little imparting of added flavors to the transferred media. T-Alimen™ may be sterilized using an autoclave at 15 psi and 121°C or with a ETO gas sterilization process.
T-Alimen™ is a rugged material designed for use in a peristaltic pump. Peristaltic pumps require robust tubing material that can handle constant compression and decompression cycles while remaining resilient.
Applications include (but are not limited to) food transfer/processing, chemical processing, laboratory, and general use tubing. T-Alimen™ is RoHS and REACH certified.
Randolph Austin has been producing tubing products amongst the strongest in the market since the 1970s. T-Alimen™ is another great option that Randolph Austin has designed and produced a proven track record over the span of a decade.
